5 Beauty Products That I’m Loving Right Now

So I think during this stay-at-home order, I am one of those who hasn’t been doing much to “put myself together”. If I’m putting on any makeup, it’s mascara & maybe a little bit of concealer, depending on the sleep I got last night because if we’re being honest, sleep is HARD right now. I think I’ve done my hair twice? And I have put on jeans for a total of 2 hours during these 6(?) weeks.

Anyways, I wanted to share some beauty products that I am using daily during this time and really loving.

First, I want to talk about the Drunk Elephant Protini™ Polypeptide Moisturizer. I have been using it in the mornings & at night for about 6 months now. It has helped keep my skin moisturized without clogging my pores or feeling too thick & heavy on my face. Ever since I started using this, my foundation goes on sooo smooth & blends so much better. I also have acne prone skin so when I find something that doesn’t cause breakouts, it’s definitely a win in my book.

This next product is the most important step in my daily routine & should 100% be in yours, too! Facial sunscreen! I have been using the Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen Lotion – SPF 55 and I really like it. Again, it doesn’t clog my pores or cause any more breakouts. I apply this to my face a few minutes after my moisturizer has time to set. (Pro tip that my mom taught me – when applying the sunscreen, squeeze it onto the back of one of your hands and apply it with your fingertips. After you’ve finished applying it to your face, rub the backs of your hands together to protect them. We don’t realize how much sun damage our hands get, while driving, walking, etc.)

I don’t think I’m alone in this when I say, a good mascara or lash routine is the most important step to my makeup routine. If I am getting ready with a full face it’s eyelash curler, lash primer, & usually 2 different mascaras. But right now, I’ve only been using the Benefit Roller Lash mascara. It is my favorite mascara if I just need something to quick put on to look more awake & put together. My favorite part of this mascara is that I don’t even need an eyelash curler when I use it. It curls and lengthens my lashes with just one coat! If you’re hesitant to try it & don’t want to buy a regular sized tube, they do offer a mini size here

Next up is the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. It has been my go-to for under eyes for a loooong time now. The way I apply it is a little different right now since I am just trying to look more awake & not going for a whole full face. I dot a little bit of product under each eye (probably 4 dots each) and I use my clean fingertips to just kinda tap the product into my skin. Please please please, do NOT rub your undereyes! The skin under your eyes is SO sensitive & it can cause wrinkles & fine lines.

Lastly, I just want to quickly share the hair ties I’ve been using. I know it sounds kind of silly but since I haven’t been styling my hair, I have been using these daily. They are the Gimme Beauty Bands. I love them because they don’t cause breakage or rip out my hair when I pull them out and they don’t leave a huge crease in my hair! If you go to the Gimme Beauty website, you will see they have all different types of bands depending on your hair type or hair color. If you haven’t checked them out, I highly recommend you do!

That is pretty much my daily routine right now and if you have any questions about any of the products, feel free to comment below!
