Last week was Anthony’s birthday and I was having such a hard time thinking of something special to do for him. I wanted something that was relaxing but still fun and with the Coronavirus pandemic, my options were limited. After doing a little research, I decided to have an outdoor movie night! It is something that we can do when we host our friends in the future but also enjoy now while we’re spending our time at home.
So I sent Anthony golfing and while he was gone, I set up. I am very thankful my siblings were there to help because I could not have done it alone haha.
We started off with the lights…YIKES! I bought a few boxes of the “globe string lights” and after starting to hang them, they exploded everywhere! So after we cleaned those lights up, we ran to the store and found these rope lights. They worked SO well! They were easy to use and they didn’t break so that was a win-win.
After getting the lights strung, I set up a bookcase to hold the popcorn buckets, candy, and other snacks and filled a small tub with ice for drinks. I also laid a piece of wood over our fire pit to use as a small table which worked out perfectly. All I had left to do after that was lay out our blankets, plug in the screen (which inflates itself), and turn on the projector.
I was so happy with how it turned out for how easy it was and Anthony was really surprised! It made for a nice romantic, night outside that we can definitely set up again. I will link everything that I can below but if you have any questions, please reach out!
