We got a puppy! Meet Nani!
She is a 12 week old French Bulldog and Boston loves her from far away but is unsure when she’s giving him kisses 😜
This has been something I’ve been looking forward to for weeks so to finally have her home with us and share with you is so exciting! (Fun fact: I’ve never had a girl dog so it was pretty fun for me to start shopping for her.)
A little backstory…We’ve always wanted a family dog. Someone for our kids to grow up with but it never worked out for us, until now. Boston LOVES dogs. Anytime he sees one in a book, on a walk, anywhere, he barks and smiles. There’s been a few times where we’ve watched my brother’s dog for him while he’s out of town and Boston watches everywhere she goes and wants her to play 24/7. So this is a literal dream come true for us. I’ve been mentally preparing myself for the middle of the night wakings and teething/biting. I spent the other day going thru Boston’s toys and finding the super small ones or just not “puppy safe” ones so we can be as prepared as possible.
Another really exciting part of this journey is, my sister, Renée and her family have Nani’s sister, Lilo! They are littermates 🙂 Basically another part of our master plan, haha. My sister’s family dog died a couple of months ago and her kids were veryyyy sad so for Christmas they found out they were going to get a new puppy and that we would have that puppy’s sibling. The kid’s thought we weren’t getting the dogs until March so we surprised them and picked them up today and they went crazy!!! They were so excited!
It has been so fun planning all of this with my sister. We spent our lunch breaks this past week (we work together) going to the pet store and brainstorming names. Man, naming a dog/dogs is so hard!! We also decided to start an Instagram for the girls because they’re cute (obviously) and we thought that it would be fun. So if you want to follow us @thefrenchietails!
It is going to be so fun watching Boston with his new best friend so I will definitely share more about Nani here as we go thru the puppy stages and learn more about her.
